Recieved notice today that Callies is now mfg 8620 billet cam cores to the cam finishing companys. This came into play about 1.5 yrs ago. Callies mfg crankshafts for the aicraft engine mfg and Crane was producing the cams. When Crane started to go down, the engine mfg notified Callies, that the crankshaft production was going to end until cams could be produced by someone else. The owner of Callies,took a trip to Crane looked at the outdated equipment and purchased the cam gear cutting equipment. Now they are mfg cores for the shortages, finishing cams for the aircraft engine mfg along with the crankshafts for aircraft and our market, it's good to know that the same company supplies crankshafts and cams to aircraft engine mfg. THEY ARE NOT OFFERING FINISHED CAMS, THEY ARE A CORE MFG.
