I remember reading that merc had some new type of whoop azz metal alloy and they were going to re-do all their props with this new alloy.
The alloy was so strong that blades would be thinner and flex less - thus more speed.
What ever happened to this project? I haven't heard a thing since that article???

If I remeber correctly the blades kept coming off, I'll ask tomorrow if I think about it. it was something like it worked fine w/ small diameter but they kept having trouble w/ large diameter.

Now that you mention it, I read about this in Powerboat or EBM last year. I too would like to know the status of this project.

Geez! Nothing like testing a product before bringing it to market. What lucky consumer got to pay for all the broken props and damaged drives/engines? Nice.

Paul, be thankful you were not on the receiving end of all his O' bashing emails pre election. OMG!

What's worse is he didn't send them to enough peeps and he got elected. :ack2:

I know you do. How's the motor coming along? Any surprises since the tear down?

The other was a 502 not like the first one (509), But the lifters were in backwards and did not hit the block . One just never knows what he /she will find in a boat. :sifone:
