Thanks Tim,

Viewing from the shore?? looks to me that the spectator fleet could obstruct the view??

SHARKEY-IMAGES

Spectator fleet will be kept east of the pits.

Shooting from land, the pier would be the closest to the action.

Pete, I am sure we can get you on a boat if you like.

Good talking with you this morning.

Cya in a few weeks. :seeya:

If you mount a chair on top of the canopy, he should be able to get some really good pics during the race.....:sifone:

I'd suggest a waterproof camera housing though........:) :leaving:

Interesting thing.

To fly from Grand Rapids to Patchgue is over 9 hours fly/layover time. Plus get to the airport early by one hour minimum etc., and it's a 40 minute drive plus rental car pickup..... I figure about 12 hours total from the house to the race site. And $700 per person.

To drive is 12 hours 19 minutes according to Mapquest.

12 hours 29 minutes, if you stop to pee and get more beer.

Thought about that, but George likes Jim to be able to see where he's going once in awhile.....

Now you can understand why I decided to drive to Michigan.... :driving:

Damn glad I did too! I would have missed out on so much had I flown..... :sifone:

I was doing some SVL research. I show there were 11 registered with OSS? Where are they all now. And, is there more?

I found one in Georgia for sale with everything but engine for $42,000. Probably too high for the current market. I don't see that one as one of the registered 11 either. But, maybe it is.

thats a different boat. it was "Equalizer" and "WAY2KRAZY". There is also another Phantom out there. "INMOCEAN" not for sale yet. As I understand, one owner wants to sell it. the other owner does not.

If these boats can get purchased and put on the course, you'de have some great racing.

In my opinion, its the only class that has any chance of surviving and growing with older equipment.

Heck, they even help if you have a Batboat that might be fast enough.....:)

Don't know what they'd do if you won though....:sifone:

I would have bought the SVL guys dinner. :sifone:

Mark and Randy started a thing where the winner buys dinner. I am late to the class and just learned of it recently. Now that I think of it Randy is on the hook,

Important informational annoucement for SPECTATORS coming by boat!

All information can be found on the website:

http://www.greatsouthbayracing.com/sitemap.html

We hope people coming to watch by boat take a good hard look at this. There will not be any spectator boats allowed at either of the corners. Spectators will be along the straightaways only... Knowing this ahead of time hopefully will reduce any delays with people anchoring in early.

It had a #5 when I sold it, but I'm 99% sure that they changed to a bravo shortly thereafter.
