Will likely be checking this one out soon. Does anyone know this boat? Was on Lake Michigan, now in Detroit. It looks really clean. Hawk 525's and Bravo's.

Talk to some guys about the CF Guns before you buy one. I've heard some negatives about the hull layup. I believe that Skip even said that they only built a few because they had issues (in an interview in Powerboat or Extreme Boats).

Didn't they do some Kevlar? How were those?

I've got some photos of that from when I was looking back in '02-'03. I want to say that it was in Indianapolis back then.

I'll see if I can dig them up.

Interesting Craig. From the pictures I see that the swim platform is a different color and the engines are different. Here's what is in the boat I am looking at. The dash is different too. Were there 2 carbon 70's with this paint scheme?

I would say that it's probably a different boat. That was a popular graphics scheme. Then again, it was also 6 and a half years ago.

I have a carbon 70 without any issues in the hull (motors... not such good luck. Isn't it funny how some people call themselves "engine builders"). When I bought mine I called Cigarette just to get the real scoop and what I learned was that it was all marketing. The boat may be a couple hundred lbs lighter and that Cigarette wan't even able to tell me where the carbon was. I found mine on the sides from the rub rail down to the first chine, the transom, stringers in the engine compartment and the firewall. Cigarette said that most were like mine plus the deck. Very cool boat. Buy it cuz ya like it, not because its a carbon 70. FYI. Carbon will pin a moisture meter.
