Looking at the Demographics, a great venue for a race(which was done a long time ago) is a race from Upper Michigan to Chicago.I believe the original race started in Chicago and ended somewhere in Michigan? anyone know?
From Mackinac Island(general area) or another point,it is roughly 280 nautical miles.I think this type of race would give the industry a kick in the pants and bring the sport to the forefront once again.
This would be a terrific venue arriving in Chicago and after talking to Stinson,it appears we would need 3 fuels stops.I have those points established.
I know Pepe(Pantera) and Jo are in. If I'm correct,Pepe has the record from Miami to New York...
Just gathering info to see what interest,if any, there is. I do have connections to a few of the networks that may be interested.
So...a couple of questions:
Do you think there would be interest in light of the economy, racers, etc?
Do you think the venue would be a good one?
How many boats would you think there would be?

Post your opinion or drop me a line...

Do you want to get this race on a series schedule as a points race or just a fun run?

If it were on the OPA/OSS schedule we would do it. We have a fuel limit of about 90 miles.
