Quoted from the JOTJ Pres. on the other site:

Its official July 11,2009 !!! All the details have been worked out and arrangements made with the Hotel and various Marinas. Plus the Worx band will be returning for the Saturday night banquet.

For those of you that don't know I have taken over the job of President of the RPBA from Steve Gresham. Steve took this from a small local run with less than 15 boats and turned it into one of the top 10 Poker Runs in the Country. I'm very fortunate to be able to take over a organization that has been run so well and doesn't need anykind of overhaul. All of the people who assisted him have agreed to continue with there voluntary assistance for me next year. Without there support I wouldn't have wanted to take on this endeavor. I'm very excited about what's ahead and what I have to do to make this run as great or better in the future.

I hope everyone from last year is able to return and that we can attract some new participants that don't know what there missing.

What we're considering bringing is not even close to the 382, but I'm swearing everyone to secrecy until I'm sure we can have it done in time. (This means NO HINTS, John!!!!)

This is an awesome event as anyone who has attended in the past can tell you. If your considering attending for the first time you need to let me know by early January so your on the application list. The apps. will be going out in late January and you need to get them in early to secure a spot on the main dock.

Funny thing is I asked her many times if she wanted to drive, but she turned me down everytime. She had no problem drivign my 22 Scarab though, although that was much smaller and only had one "stick."

She does want to "help" more, so in October I let her pull the empty trailer out of the water while I got the boat out of the way of others launching. The parking area was empty and huge, but I took a look up and one of the mechanics is sprinting over to my rig because she jack-knifed the crap out of it....gonna have to work on that!

82 DB's is very low. I don't think any thru hull boat can pass that.

You obviously have to put mufflers on.. however I have even had friends who have to put steel wool in them to pass....

CMI mufflers on a 500 EFI rang up 90.1 DB's on another guys boat, so mufflers wont do it alone on a performance engine. Steel wool sounds like an interesting idea...

So double would be 164.

You're saying he thought we were at 164 at idle?

Again, he did not say double. He did say he thought we were well above the limit.

As stated, the starting point IS Jordan Point. I have met or know all those you named. I haven't seen Jim at the event in a few years.....Justin is the mechanic at the starting point and is there, but usually doesn't make the run. David is often there but hasn't made the run every year. Joe has always done this run but sold his boat last year.....I'm assuming he won't make the run but will probably be around at the start.

Wow, sounds like a kick Azz event. Justin should just stay home that day anyway, I Have been in Miami, ft myers, NJ, MD and more with justin and he always ends up working on someones boat, instead of having fun. a truely talented individual. I didn't know Joe sold his boat, I talk to Steve K (that works for Joe) once a month and he never mentioned it. Jim is probably to busy with the OSS thing, and Cheatham is Probably just too busy chasin chic's. If I can make it I'll be there (My sister still lives in Richmond) I have a nephew graduating from UVA and a big shindig at my Sis's house in Midlothian, So I'll be in the neighborhood. simple........If you tow all the way up, leave the boat somewhere in Hampton and hitch a ride back up to JP on Sunday. We will be launching out of the Chick early Sat AM. I think a small group will be staying at a marina on the Chick friday night and heading out that AM also. (If I was heading all the way back I'd give you a ride to JP Sunday).
Now for the group that is likely staying on the Chick friday night.....I'm certain they are going to find a way to get up to JP for the friday night party. (It's a good time, but mild in comparison to the rest of the weekend). Maybe you need a slip on the Chick friday night too?????

Just kiddin' about the AT thing. Too much time hanging around RAddiction. (you can only imagine....)

What we're considering bringing is not even close to the 382, but I'm swearing everyone to secrecy until I'm sure we can have it done in time. (This means NO HINTS, John!!!!)

OK - We're going to be there!

It's not finished yet, but we're looking good, so I'll spill the beans. Here are two shots from the fall of 2003, and again just last weekend, so you can see the progress. The helicopter shot is from the 2003 NJPPC Atlantic City run.

We plan to stay in Norfolk/VA Beach through Sunday night 7/12 to hang out with the HRPA guys and our friends before going home Monday 7/13.

See you there!

t500hps: You'll have to come up north to see the 382.

Alright - 2 questions:

1. How late is the Grill at JP open and/or what are the food options up there? Don't want to have to pack a dinner for that night.

2. What is the dress for the Ball for the guys? Kacki shorts and a collared shirt? Or long pants??

Burgers, hotdogs friday night til???? 8:00-9:00 probably. Sat night.....anything would be better than what you were wearing at the HRPA last summer!!!! :) Shorts and collared shirts are fine, some wear T-shirts.

Frankie is bringing some scallops:drool5: and a couple of the girls are going make some side dishes so were going to have a good dinner on the dock after the Captains meeting and things quiet down a little. If Kelli wants to make a dish bring it on.
