Lets start a Build thread on the models......

I just sent two kits to a friend of mine who agreed to build one of them for me as an exact copy of my boat. I am sending him pictures as we speak-he agreed to make a sun pad and paint it like my full size boat.

Ok-who else is building? Lets see some pics!

GOT MINE BUILT!

Actually a buddy of mine who is a GREAT model builder did it for me, and he really did a bang up job, its an exact replica of my 38KV Scarab Miami Vice Edition. He did a great job with docking lights, and a sunpad. She is home ported on my office desk....a perfect replica of JET LAG!

Check out the pics!

Very nice Randy. He did an awsome job with scratch building the pad. Did he do that from a wax cast? Did he airbrush the arch and side of the boat or is that the decal?

He told me he scratch built the sunpad by using some siding from an HO model kit building, the sides of it are from a drop tank on a P-47! Oh-the irony of that!!!!

He used the kit decals, and CAN YOU BELIEVE he clearcoated the model and it was RUINED, so he re-did the whole model AGAIN!

Heh heh.

Did the clear mess up the decals or the whole finish?

Decals were ok, just the top deck.

I am going to have him build me another one, in the new colors I plan for Jet Lag in the future, I am thinking a dark grey deck like Don Johnson's boat. I am not going to put race hatches on the boat, I like my sunpad a lot.

Oooooo.....dark colors=hot on the feet.
Stay with the pastels. That says Miami baby:D

btw....the KV that was in the rack was indeed the Salon boat. Note the dropped stripe. That's no LTD. Say no more. PM me about it
