June 15th 2009 performed a hull survey and compression tests on a 2000 2520 Parker with twin 200 Yamahas. AFTER I'm done says he didn't bring any checks with him from Texas. Seemed like a cool guy and not a scammer. Saw me do the work and knew it was done correctly. Promised to send check...never sent and now lets his phone go to voice mail several times a day. I have left several messages to please give me the courtesy of a return call. Never happens.

I was paid in full today. This guy is legit. Seems he had some real problems with a home in Galveston that tied him up recently. Take him off the $hithead list...he's okay.

Thanks for helping.

I drove by there earlier, big house on 10+ acres, guess 400-500k value. Don't know how he is getting such a low appraisal. I need to talk to his property tax people:sifone:

Still sucks Ed had to track down his money. "Don't make your problem, my problem" comes to mind.

If the man had issues that is understandable- just don't act like it never happened and have to be tracked down to pay up.

Ed, you might want to start insisting on credit card only for out of town jobs, there are several systems out there that allow you to swipe the card and authenticate using your cell phone.

Even better consider pre-authorizing by phone before you go start the job

Don't provide the survey until you're paid.

No doubt - the guy that did my "in" the water survey explained on the phone he would need cash at the time of survey, which I had no issue with - and I had the survey in my hands within a couple of days.
