I am trying to buy WW2 dated Russian capture Nazi marked 98k.

Anyone know what one would be worth in the USA? Here is the add.

Mauser 98K, cal. 8x57 mm, made by S/42 1936, Flat buttplate, machined triggerguard, laminated stock, machined middle band, solid front band, Intact Waffenants. These are Russian captured rifles, refinished in Russian arsenals. Some parts may be electro penciled to match receiver. No cleaning rods or lock screws, Overall very good condition

A dealer by me has bins full of them- I think they were $250. Some of the original WW II rifles can be worth a couple thousand or more. But the Soviet one's are pretty plentiful. Basically they're a cheap ammo burner.

the price in Canada is $375CDN

I think I am going to buy an Endfield No4 MK1* Long Branch instead because they can be had in original condition with WW2 date stamps for like 350CDN. Plus they were made in my hometown and used by the CDN army.

The dealer I found has a few Norwegian ones (intact Swastikas and Eagles and stuff) in stock but they were all rebarrelled in 30-06 when Norway went to the M1 Garand (before they went to the G3). I am not sure I really want a rebarrelled one for $695CDN even with all the intact stamps.

Chris do you know what a nice K98 with WW2 dates and correct stamps, not rebarrelled (vet bringback possibly) would be worth in the USA?

original, Nazi proof markings, matching numbers, no refinish, no molestation... $4K or more. But you have to find the right guy.
