Rare original racing photos of the 60's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HORBA has put together some rare original photos of Don racing 7 of the various boats that he competed in the 60's.

One photo still has the original PR blurb pasted on the back, when Don won the 1969 Bahamas 500.

As far as we know, this is the first time a group of original racing photos have ever been assembled.

e-bay under sports collection photos. Item number: 190304553947

I'm the first bidder.

The pic on the bottom right- the Donzi 007- you should be seeing that boat next year. Or at least a replica. One of my friends is building it right now. The pic will be a nice present for him.

I found this last night on the HORBA website. It's a cut-down Magnum 35 with a bunch of outboards. If you don't have a membership, you're missing out. There's some great stuff over there.

Why'd you bid 3 times in a row?

Damn, 6 OB's.
First, how do you get your hand around that many throttles?
Second, what rotation do you run on the props?
Third, how do you keep 6 motors synced?

If the same bidder shows up multiple times in a row in the bid history how are you being outbid?

Dunno. I think if you set a proxy bid and someone bids against you, but not above your proxy, it automatically takes yours up and doesn't show the person's bid that bumped you.

Keep in mind, HORBA is a non-profit supported solely by things like this- the sale of contributed items and others, like the Searace book. The pics are valuable, but supporting a fantastic historical resource like the one Charlie has put together is even more valuable to our community.

I agree; having copies to sell could generate additional revenue...
