not in general, Have not had it in the water in months but if memory serves, it does turn better 2 the right quicker than the left!

Here are some of mine. 50" Aeromarine weedeater motor. 24" Hot Shot tunnel 3.5 cc K&B outboard (glow motor) and a Kyosho Stinger MK-II .12 glow motor
I built the Areomarine to look like my old Hydrostream.

In all RC boat races, the course is clockwise so you only turn to the right. For a play boat usually two rudders, or one directly behind the prop, work best.

The boat will steer fine with the rudder on the right only, until you make a left over a small wave and it leaves the water....:ack2:

Depends on which hull profil you're trying to match. Aeromarine is the one I recommend first to anyone. Warehouse Hobbies has a good assortment. Like I said, depends on what your end purpose is. Completely different setup for racing vs. fun.

I want a classic offshore look but for fun not racing, do you reccomend gas or electric? I used to have a cheap electric and had a blast

Gas, around 38 to 46" overall (fit in car trunk), Zenoah slightly modified, clutch, water pump, fail safe, rudder behind prop (safety and turning both ways).

I went into Hobby Masters to pick up a battery and charger today....when I walked thru the door it was like a time warp..... Same guys behind the counter, same set-up of the counters...almost the same as I remember it 15-20 years ago!:ack2:

Oh yeah...I told the guy I was thinking of getting the gas boat running again so we got to talking....

He asked what I had....told him I had a Dumas hydro and a 3.5cc K&B outboard... He told me to sell it! Apparently the K&B outboards are worth a couple hundred bucks and the boat about $150....can probably sell it for what I bought the darn thing for and buy a brushless boat to play with! :)

If you have his number, I have some (lots:)) of outboard stuff I'm ready to get rid of. Probably enough K&B 3.5 and 7.5 to build more than 10 competitive engines each. Outboards have died around here.

I ran the Clodbuster last night....what a flash-back that was!! My neighbor walked by and said; "So is that what you do when boating season is over?"

Amazing how things have changed with the batteries etc., it lasted amost 30 minutes and mine has big motors in it.

15 yrs of storage showed itself though....looks like I have a gear going bad in one of the gearboxes and a broken stabilizer mount so I don't get full steering...

So I guess I have to get some parts for it but for the most part it was pretty cool to fire it up and run it after 15 years sitting in various basements, attics etc! :)

This one of my boy's Blackjack 26, the controller went out and it drilled a 47 Fountain at a fun run we did!

It was on of the worst sounds you could imagine, like sombody took a sledge hammer to side of the boat! There was fiberglass splinters, floatation foam in the water, and the rc boat was bobbing in the water tits up.

It was like somebody yelled "whore" in the middle of a wedding, the music stopped, some turned away, some dropped their head, others stared in disgust!

Luckily the Fountain was white gel, and there wasn't a mark on it that we could find, and trust me several people looked. I talked to the owner and explained what had happened, he understood and said don't worry about it since there was no damage. After they pulled the boat out of the water (I had already left) a friend of mine went over with the owner and tried to find it again but found nothing.

This winter the boys wanted to paint the boats, so i had them sand them down and we put some color on them.

We ended up sending the remains back to Horizon Hobbies (mfg) and they replaced the rc boat stating that the controller was defective.

I posted a few times before I realized this thread was here...Great Forum. Some of Our boats. boats like the C-54 have seen 76MPH with a inline twin gas motor, That is the model of the cigarette hull that was fitted with the skatter deck and canopy to break the speed record, In real life she fell a few MPH short, But I think is still the fastest Cigarette ever done, Our Thunderbolt has seen 85 MPH with a inline twin, that is the Corona cat, Niether of the boats pictured got those speed, but those hulls have. The cat is modeled after the Platinum hull in real life.

have some fun with your real boat by having a great model boat, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7MJbfdhYDQ The motor in this boat is a stock 26, probably running in the high 40's low 50's, This hull has seen mid 80's with a inline twin. She is modeled after the full size Platinum hull. they run great on today's Electric power as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f89mLUGK6LE
