Has anyone changed from a stock GM (Mark V) to Canton pan in this boat? I'm looking to upgrade my oiling system and have some concerns on what fits, and what doesn't. Specifically, Canton part #s 18-382 or 18-362. Boat has race engine mount.

The 382 is 10" deep and I'm concerned with clearance on the middle stringer and the ability to continue to route my water hoses underneath. I would have to relocate the bilge pump at minimum for this pan, which is not a big deal.

To me the 362 seems the logical choice, at first glance.

Anyone?

I can get the pan at WD......that's not the problem. I'm looking for someone with first-hand experience changing to an extra capacity pan in this boat.

Thanks for the reply, though.

Sorry, I have done plenty of twins. I take it no engine in hull, can you mockup the block, mount and bellhousing and just measure it? I have had to cut plenty of stringers on twins with either Stef's or Gill 14 Qt pans. I just had a 29 Fever 2004 in no center stringer only bilge pump, and notch area.

No, motor is in the boat and fully rigged. Plan is to pull, change pan, pump and oil cooler, then reinstall in a day or so. Should be cut and dry.

The more I look at it, the pan with the kickouts (18-362) is the way to go. That will get me 4 extra qts. The new cooler will likely require some thought, but shouldn't pose too big a problem.

I prefer the kick out Canton pan. Take a look at your hose routing in and out of the sea pump. If the hoses go between the the pan and engine mount, there probably won't be enough space when the kick out pan is used.
