It's a little extra work but should pay off in the long run:sifone:

Started out by taking the boat off the trailer:biggrinjester:

In the middle of shooting the 1st coat of gel I had a little mishap. The disposable water seperator I was using decided to blow up. So I had to try and hold my pain gun and wrestle the flopping air line to keep it from hitting the wet gel. Man did that ever suck!

Then shortly after that I learned a valuable lesson about how long it takes gel to kick in a pain gun!:boxing_smiley::dupe:

Make sure you get plenty of mixing cups:sifone: And a good 5 gal of gel and duratec:drool5:

Amen to that! I got a good system down after I had to clean/scrape out my gun. After every cup I would shoot some mek through it and douche out the cup. That seemed to make all the difference for me.

Hopefully all the time I spent on the back of the boat sanding down the high spots and filling the lows will pay off and help me squeek out some better numbers:sifone:

Thats actually a pretty important step that is often overlooked. What happens is the gel left on the inside of the cup after you run the cup dry is still catalyzed and will continue to kick. If you add fresh gel to that the small amount of already catalyzed gel left in the cup will mix in and cause little blobs to form in the fresh gel and will really screw chit up.

I had to fix the bottom on a Tige so here is what I make to help with the project.
It is so much easier to work on them off the trailer and you get a much better job.

It helps when you own a welding shop, we have made a lot of tools to get different jobs done.
