Thanks guys! We did a lot of work on it last winter and enjoyed the hell out of it all summer. i wanted to give it a classy refined look that a lot of boats seem to miss these days. just got through derigging it for the winter, have plans for more hp and new drives. i will be adding some state of the art electronics this winter as well. i will try to keep everyone posted with pics this winter. this pic was taken about 30 min ago

We freshened one of mine earlier this summer and I think I might pull the other one in the next couple of weeks and get it all set up in the garage for a refresh this winter.... I'd rather not but it looks like I'll be doing my own work again... Been almost 10 yrs so I'll take my time.....

It fell off the trailer, upside down and got tore up pretty bad. Guess it's actually sitting in whearhouse (in FL I think). Painted all white, all fixed but needs total rigging.

ya we will be coming back out for desert storm. i think we will make it a annual trip for us. we are prolly going to have a pretty big group coming with us next year. with texoma not having any events anymore and LOTO changing their laws, everyone is wanting to go to havasu to see what its all about. desert storm was by far the best event we attended this year... and yes i know i missed out last year with the conditions but you dont have to rub it in. lol

No idea where it is now. The only info I have is that the Thunderchief was 65', powered by two Detroit-Penske diesels (670kW) each coupled to Arneson drives. Top speed as they said was 50 knots. It carried 4500l of fuel and 560l of water.
Price was 1 500 000 German Marks wich was a considerable sum for a boat of that size and power back then.

There is another pic of that boat in the Apache pic thread on OSO.

Yea... she is sweet, you at the islands alot? what boat is yours? I am usually at Kelleys every weekend but was out most of this last summer, spent the remainder of the season in Mentor with The Chief!

Don't worry, The Chief makes mine look small too!

Here's the big Apache

The late 80's pink stripe had to go.

I'm with you. It's just the skull is a little too bold for the fade and other colors.

Like I said real close. I guess I'll wait to see it in person, sometimes things do look much better then and they blend properly.

Yep. That's exactly what I thought of when he said it looked better in person. When I saw a pic, I wanted to paint the boat. It just wasn't me.

When I saw the boat in person, I wanted to protect the paint job at all cost. I am gonna hire a bodyguard when I take it to get the engines dropped in. :D

Bobby, how many step bottom 36's were built? The F2-36 boat, where is it now? I remember watching that boat run at the SBI NYC race some years ago. And of course Meanstreak some years before that!

Frank

I recall maybe three with the original design.. The 36 - F2 boat is still owned by its original owner Carl in New Hampshire.. Every once in a while he takes it out for a blast. We still stay in touch. I will have to look for some picture of the other ones..
