Torrent - what size boat are you running? Take a look at www.boynethunder.com There's some good information there about course and distances. If you have additional questions....post 'em up and we'll do our best to answer them.

My boat is a 30 foot. It runs 87.3 gps right now doing some mods this winter so hopefully faster.

Not really about how fast, more about how dependable. There will be boats in the 30ft range. My friend did it in a 28 Saber last year. It's a blast, go for it. Make sure you walk into town after the run!

Your boat would be fine,I have a 29ft Powerquest and have been a safety boat at Beaver Island for the last 4 years,last year I lucked out and got the closer post.If the seas are to bad you can stay in Lake Charlevoix and get your cards anyway.

I boat out of Lake Charlevoix which has access 2 Lake Mich!! Boyne City is on the east end(where the poker run hails from) & Charlevoix is on the west end next 2 the big lake!! Awesome, gorgeous waters!! I boated down on St. Clair 4 years, started go'n up 2 the Char area & luv it!!! Clear waters, good depths, good people & friends!!:sifone:

No problem,plug it in.Just don't turn on the air.Just got my buddies camper out of the yard a few weeks ago,he was coming up from GR staying in it for skiing.The gas heat was fine,as soon as he tried to turn on the electic heater so I could pay to heat his camper,oh sure,the breaker blew.So there Wrinkleface,there is my camaraderie. yea but most bug out on saturday night, boyne thunder i think needs to support the city of boyne on friday night but saturday night make the party at the marina big. get a band like the aaron vaughn band to rock the night away they play the zoo bar alot in the winter. they play this saturday at 4:30 go check them out and get them hired.

Is the water street inn the closest to the docks? One of my female crew members is turning 21 on the Friday we arrive, so we definitely want to be where the "action" is:cheers2: I told her this would be a lot of fun, so you guys have to help me with that! Who just stays on their boat?

The Water St. Inn would be a good choice,walking distance to anywear in downtown and the city Marina.Friday night we have a car show and bring some of the boats on trailors downtown.We have people playing music on all the downtown corners.Plus the big crowd at the marina looking at all the boats from Poker Run.There are several people who spend the night in their boats.And yes we will make sure your 21 year old has a good time,just send her to 220 Lake St. bar,thats the hip spot.

I dreampt that I did. They cancelled last minute. So I went to bar instead. I have offically swithched over to boating for the year.

Cary is a level above me on the slopes. I am just gald and trying to keep him from being 2 steps above me. I could make the ecuse that I ski 7-10 times a year and so on but the fact is hes a better althlete than me. That being the case I love racing against him.

I was really looking forward to the race and they said they are going to try to make it an annual event. Its been almost 15 years since they tried to do this.
