Man,
This site is sad.
No one, just no one.

Well then I will take more photo's of her while she is getting rebuilt.
At least I will not get bashed on, for how I do the work........:sifone:

lol . . welcome aboard. yea as of yet we dont have a strong representation of X-cals. But hey look at it this way you are a pioneer in the group. :D

Great boat man and definetly keep the pics of her rebuild coming. I looked at on my self a few years ago, fantastic wave crushers for sure.

I considered one last year too, just couldnt find a good updated one for sale. I love the roomy cabin, and classic offshore look.

Great TM.
Lets see it.

Well, a little update on my barge.
Picked up a few goodies for her and still plan on having motors back in her in May.
Just to many other things going on and I need the cash for those items.
Good thing is the wife is behind me on getting her done.
Once motors are back in then the cabin will be completed.
I hope nothing else comes up to throw it farther behind.

Restoring the original factory Excalibur Racing, the other 31 I'm going thru now, as I'm also putting up a 30X60 steelmaster shop. Just not enough hours in a day. Then overtime at work is unlimited.

Cool,
Yea, I would live to have a garage that size.

Good luck.

Still need to buy cams as one motor has had the machine work done, just been working in her cabin.
Now, that it is gettting 'warm' here, I have to force my self to work on it.
Not going to fast, just do not have the time or $$$$ to buy all the items to get her in the water.
Wife is real firm on not touching savings and so it comes down to side work for cash or save my cash from monthly budget.
Starting to look at used parts for her.
Not what I wanted, but it is what it is.

Back to the boat...
I opened up the bathroom and made it larger.
Next, I am putting down travertine on the floor and on the walls.
The sink is granite.
Most of this stuff I found at wholesale place's since most construction is down.

Friend got his bolsters and interior done, from West Coast Marine in Perris,Ca.
Came out real nice so I went over there and got a ballpark.
Looks like that will have to wait for a while.( I was looking to buy bolsters)
I just want to get the cabin together and the motors in this year to take it out once!!!!

Yea, I will have this boat 2 years and still never put it in the water.
(I wish I could have just bought a couple of take-outs)
I never thought of this when I bought it.
I had no idea that "things" would change so much in my life.
But, I am still happy, and wish the wife was more into it.
She looks out for us I guess.

Next time I bring her home I will post photo's of the work I am doing.
Can't bring her home next weekend as I got to help my Navy son move into his first appartment.:26:

Hey 42Johnny, how's your rig coming along? Haven't been on ̃he scope site much lately.

Can't believe anyone is here!!!!

Well,
good news is I have all the time to work on it.:26:

Bad news is I just lost my job!!!:reddevil:

So I have time to work on it, but no extra money to sink in it.
This is why I have been buying items I knew I would need to get things done as I saw the lay-off on the way.
Wife will let me touch the "eggnest" to pay bills, but not for boat parts.
I wonn't put anything on a credit card so I might be doing some swapping or bartering untill I get another job.
It is kinda nice not being gone 14-15 hrs a day, but I miss the $$$.
(going from $125k yr to unemployed sucks)
It have only been a few weeks and I am starting to get things
orginized in priority as far as what I need/want to do.
I may just have to sell it, just so I do not have to pay to keep it at storage .

I do not know what would be worth, parting it out would probably be the best???

I would rather finish it, as all it really needs to put it in the water is motors done and installed.
It really needs nothing else.
the cabin needs little $$$, as I have been buying items for it.
Now I have the time, I can get the cabin mostly done, as far as upholstry, that will have to wait.

I wish I could have just bought a couple of drop in motors and been done with the motor deal.

Thanks for asking,
Take care,

Johnny

Sucks man. You end up selling it or parting it? Hope all is well and you found some employment. Hang in there man.

Nope, haggin on to it and working on it!!!!!
Got a couple of coals in the fire for work.two compaines want me after the first of the year and have a meeting this coming Monday with a company president I had already interviewed with.
So looking good.
I told my wife that I may have to sell the boat/motors and she said "hell no".
Even though she has not put a dime in it, she wants it... go figure..
Will be bringing home once I see the weather is clear..
I am trying to sell the blowers, but if not I will maybe put on.

well,
Alot has gone on in a year, I still have the boat. Even put it up for sale once or twice....
motors are still in the garage and finally ordered bearings and gasket for the rebuilt motor.
Not sure if I will put roller cams back in them as I have not found any that are in my budget.
the flat tappet cams are still there but will have to get new lifters.
But the bottom ends will be complete(minus cams) heads are done.
got a couple of quotes to put the motors back in....
Just need to get a job or my business to get off the ground and take care of me.
