This is a 24X 7 hull.

Now asking $12K FIRM. I will consider trades for a similar priced center console boat.

Engines are 1994 Merc 200 XRi. The starboard engine has a rebuilt power head done in 2006. Compression and leak tests done by Jaws Marine spring of 2008 were good. Mounted on hydraulic jack plate. The boat doesn't have hour meter, so I'm not sure the number of hours. I've only put on about 10 hours since I purchased last year.

New Teleflex throttle and shifter cables installed summer 2008. New hydraulic surge disk brakes installed on trailer spring 2008. New cockpit cover spring 2008.

She's shrink wrapped and tucked away for the season. I'll revive this listing in March.

How well does that boat run ( speed at wot and cruise) Really cool boat buy the way...

The boat runs awesome. Cruises in the 50s (two adults and two kids) and tops out in the upper 60s (one adult). Pantera built it to run in the mid 70s with this engine set up and racing props. Of course, the engines have a little age now but run strong.

It's spring time and I've just been laid off from Sprint. Time to sell this Pantera fast. I will consider all offers.

What size mids are those? What size props and what rpm are you turning them?

Dumb question. What's a mid?

oops, sorry. Mid-section (probably 20" or 25")

The boat including engines are shrink wrapped at the moment. Once I take it off I'll measure the mids and let you know prop size.

The shrink wrap is off and the boat is ready for the season.

$13k!!! Holy crap. What's the world coming to... I looked at this boat 3 years ago, and it was $45k. I would have paid $25k for it no problem. I think it sold 1.5 years ago for $23k and I thought that was a sweet price. Good luck. Bummer you've got to take it in the pants like this LM!

Dude! Sweet!

MarylandMark
06-18-2009, 06:50 PM
No offense LM and trust me when I say I hope your life/work get better so you don't have to sell.

"Since I'm selling the boat so cheap, it will be an "As Is" sale. That means no surveys and no sea trial. I will start the engines in my drive way so that you see that they work."

I'd take that out. Red flag for any buyer I would think- if nothing is wrong with it then what's the big deal. I don't mean flogging it in 4 footers- just getting on plane for a few minutes with a "non-refundable if it don't break" cash deposit shouldn't be a big deal unless there was some thing wrong with it. I understand $13K is a bargain even if it didn't have power at all but that is not what you are selling..

Nope. It didn't sell.

Maryland Mark, I agree with you. I let my wife talk me into putting that comment in there. She was so ****ed that no one wanted to buy it for so cheap that why should we waste our time taking the boat out for sea trial. I knew it was a bad idea.

There's nothing wrong with the boat. If someone does want to sea trial it, then we will most likely have to haul it down to Sandy Pt Park and drop it in (40 min haul). Our local ramp is closed now.

By the way, the reserve price was $12K. The first buyer to bring that gets a great boat that is worth $20K.

I always liked the 28's and never knew they made a 24'. Seems to be a clean boat. The only thing is the age of the motors that would worry me. Sprint - my sister was laid off as well several months ago. She could not find a job in her line of work. She is working for a daycare now until things turn-a-round.

In the eBay add I had I said there was soft wood under the bench seat. Let me clarify.

The storage bin under the bench seat has a separate floor than the cockpit. It's what is soft. The cockpit floor, stringer, transom and hull are all strong.

If only I could sell mine, I would be up there for it.

Seriously, if anyone wants a 24 single(I know most of you want to go faster, but it is a good start for someone with little $$ and lots of time), Mine can be had for a steal, I am not trying to use this thread to sell my boat, the only way it is for sale is if I get the twin engine 24 that this thread is about, otherwise I keep it. My boat COULD use a transom, but it is strong as is, and has a 1/4" plate wrapped completely up into the motorwell, so its not going anywhere, I just dont like the motorwell configuration, and slight dampness, if I keep the boat the transom will get done this winter along with reconfiguring the entire back of the boat and adding a bracket. I have seen a best of 59 MPH(very loose setup) with the STOCK 1994 225 3 litre, but currently have it set up to run 55-57 and have a much better attitude than the 59 run.

Amen brothers! :sifone:

Rick, you've got to work up some long and confusing economic explaintion for why you HAVE to buy this one now and how it's really an "investment" at this price... How once the market turns around, the difference in current price vs. market price will exceed what you'd sell your first 24 for...

I'm just sayin'... :reddevil:

Actually, My wife wouldnt argue too much, its just that I live on Zero Lot line property, and have the truck and 2 other cars plus the boat parked there now, just simply cant fit one more. Selling mine would make more sense also with the economy situation, my job is good for now, but as we all know that can change overnight more and more of our product gets sent overseas every day. My company has had 2 layoffs in the last year, I am in a good position not to get hit(Quality Engineering), but if they ever decide to cut manufacturing completely at my facility some of us will have to go. The way I look at this boat is that thee is $10,000 worth of hardware attached to the transom(2 motors at $2500 each + 1 Bracket at $2500, plus K-planes at $2500= $10,000), and $2000 worth of trailer under it, the hull and interior are free, definitely a good deal, but not until mine sells.:driving:

I'm sad and happy all at the same time.

It was sold to a SO member, beck427. It was hauled up to Albany, NY. He also has a 24 Pantera down in FL with a single I/O that I think he's trying to get rid of.

Anyway, I hope it works out for him. It's a great boat.

I don't think my wife will ever let me buy another speed boat. Six years ago it took me a year and half to sell my 35' Sonic. Although, she did like the ride in that one. I think once she rides in a new 41' Pantera, that her mind will change!!! :D That is if I hit the lottery!!

That sucks, wasnt meant to be a poast against the boat, just crap happens, I used to have a mid for that, but sold it a while back. If I had bought the boat it would have heppened to me also, as I would have just brought it home and threw it in the water.
