"Cruisin' for a Cause" Boat Poker Run Sept 20

The inaugural “Cruisin’ for a Cause” boat poker run will be held 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 on beautiful Lake Greenwood. All hands in at Greenwood Shrine Club by 3:00 p.m. Awards and live auction will be held at 4:00 p.m.

This is an event you don’t want to miss. Boaters and sponsors from around the Lakelands will be uniting to benefit people with disabilities and special needs served by Burton Center and the Laurens County DSNB.

Pre-registration: $20/hand - online, go to www.connectlakegreenwood.com. You can also preregister at Burton Center, 2605 Hwy 72 221E, Greenwood, SC 29649 or the Laurens County Disabilities and Special Need Board, 1869 Hwy 14, Laurens, SC. You can purchase as many hands as you wish.

Registration day of the event: $25/hand. You can register at any of the 5 stops: Harris Landing, Skipper’s Marine, Jim Medford Residence at Stoney Point, Lighthouse RV Park & Marina and the Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort. Awards and live auction at Greenwood Shrine Club. You must check in at each stop to draw a card. Your registration includes meal and entertainment at the Greenwood Shrine Club. Anyone on a boat that is not registered to play but would like to attend the meal and entertainment at the Shrine Club, there will be a $5.00 charge.

Burton Center and the Laurens County DSNB provides services for over 1,400 people with lifelong disabilities and special needs (autism, intellectual disabilities, head injuries, spinal cord injuries and related disabilities) in Abbeville, Edgefield, Laurens, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick and Saluda counties. These individuals receive a broad range of services providing the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. The purpose of this run is to provide assistance to people with disabilities when no other funding is available.
