Okay rocking with a Nova ST and the platform is well. There
I am torn on liking the platform so I guess it stays.
I will be taking it off to put on exhaust and will need to cut it for the Exhaust exit
I know reversion reversion reversion. I am on that. BUT

We were out over the weekend and I noticed that the platform really needs to be vented to let that air pocket out when in waves
You can feel the entire deck move when the transom comes down on a wave

I was trying to think of some type of vent/slot/hole that could go in the back edge or corners to vent this thing
Might just take care of reversion issues and really will deal with the pressure of "holding" up the transom on waves

Well, reversion has to do with injected water being pulled back into the engine by negative pressure pulse overlap (my term). Water backing up into your exhaust tips can be reasonably addressed by tip flaps. I've seen a few manufacturers (I don't remember who or what models) address platform "slapping" by incorporating 2 or 3 grates on the surface. These grates can do double duty as service access/inspection ports in case you need to reach down and remove a twig or whatever caught on the drive or in the props. Good luck

Raise it 6" so its level with the top of the transom, rename it a "bussle" and it should easily add 20+ mph to your top speed and increase the boat's value by 34.285%

Roger that I have a set of tips that will take care of that issue I just want the thing to be white guy approved.
I like negative Pressure pulse overlap system dynamics, seems rather catchy. Like that new Daft punk song

You should really think about converting to a tube platform if you want to stop the slapping.

I would say an insert of some sort if not going the tubular route as mentioned...
Neighbor's Sea Ray had a nice big "vent" in it's center with their logo or something like this one...

or an aluminum insert with milled slots set in...

Just build one and it turned out nice.
Hence the powder coating prop question when he asked
I just like to keep this old bird somewhat original I guess.......

You can stash the platform in case you want to put it back on. But for the exhaust and low flight landings, the tube one will last and not break the boat...

And of course we all ignore Paul's wisdom at our own peril:26:

Yeah, Tube is the way
I was just contemplating it and looking at the thing today
What to do or not, but I think that tubes are going to be it........

If you have the talent to build a tube platform, and you have a friend who will powdercoat it for a reasonable price, that's the way I'd go in a heartbeat. You could even make it two small ones, one each side, and leave the middle open if it works for your exhaust.

So bringing this back alive!

I'm going for the Tube and it's the end of the season so Pull this thing off! Right!?!
Wrong

All bolts out and I'm assuming that they used 5200 to fasten it to the transom
SO, guess what!

Any advice on how to diffuse the adhesive
We have tried pressure, jacks, leverage, wedges?
Short of cutting it off with a chain saw and grinding the rest down I'm kind of at a loss

What color do you want?
I'm working on a Jig
Also just was measuring up a Profile that has a glass/bracket type to maybe go that route
But I think that tubes are the way

There are several debond materials out there that soften 5200. I've never heard of one being better or worse than others. Some of them are debond 2000, Anti Bond, Marine Formula by Debond Corp, etc. I'd just try whatever your local marine supply store carries.

Is the 5200 thick enough to where there is room to put a heated razor or knife between the platform and hull? (Or a hot piano wire/fishing line wire leader)? If so, you can saw it off first then remove the 5200 with the debond material.

Once again, another perfect example for the liberal use of high explosives.
