Done this before but it was years ago. Just smoked a rubber square hub 25" Mirage prop. Ive got all the rubber out. Will the 835258K2 hub work for me? Ive used the plastic hubs successfully in the past but am a bit higher in power now.

Theoredically yes. Square insert in square hole. It's been so long I'd actually have to do the measurement myself but memory says yes it works even though it is a little sloppy.

Will it hold up better than a new rubber one?

I used the steel inserts with the rubber corners and it went in quite tight. hehe. Ive had a plastic insert in one of my props for 10 years and never hurt it but I am pushing a bit too much hp through that so bought the steel ones this time.

Ive never had any luck with redone rubber inserts, they usually let go quite soon and were expensive. Glad they came out with the hubs. Of course that doesnt do any of my old round hub props any good.

Put grease on the rubber snubber strip prior to putting them in and your world is much easier!
When prop shops rehub the rudder hubs, they need to hone the bore prior to the re insert. This will help but, your right, re hubbing the round bores are never as good as the original.
