2002 46 Black Thunder 750hp Merc 575's 5psi (No cooler....yet), Engines built by Jim Valeko and Tyler Crocket.

Imco SCX-4 just installed! They look AMAZING on Ryans boat (and thats from a Arneson fan!) But I love ALL surface drives!

Boat belongs to Ryan. (Ryan9154) He is relaxing with a cold one right now after installing these and asked me to post. :cheers2:

Will post numbers, specs, measurments, etc as soon as possible. Not much more to report besides sharing some pics! Come see it run in person at Boyne Thunder Poker run!

Awesome.....

I cannot wait to see this run and hear the numbers. As far as I know, this is the very first ever....

Can we get some straight-edge pics with the drives trimmed horizontal to the bottom to document height with the performance numbers?

I can't wait to hear about handling and speed numbers.....

Some are telling me I should switch to 5"s from the 3A's to raise the X and get better speed and handling. This is the closest test I know of....

I'm liking this! What size and who's blower? What are you hoping to make for power?

ryan9154
09-20-2012, 01:02 AM
Dyer's blowers high helix 8-71's the strips are machined in the rotors so no telfon I like that going 540's thinking heads are going to need a little hogging they flow 404 at 700 lift right now but Jim thinks he can get more we should be around 950 to 1000 time will tell. New efi's are fast 1375 with 8 83 lb injectors

How did boat run???????

offshoreexcursion
07-09-2013, 12:14 AM
Ryan is TIRED! LOL! He says the boat runs awesome. Still breaking the engines in, changing the oil, etc. He has removed the 1" drive spacers that he installed on the SCX-4s. Now that they are hanging off of extension boxes it should run better without the spacers.

Engines pull HARD. Ryan loves the power. This Thursday Tyler Crocket does the In Boat tuning and by then they will broken in and Ryan will put the hammer down!

Boyne Thunder Poker run starts Thursday with a fun run so we all will be very busy but will try to update asap!

Ok finally got the little stupid things perfect and I was able to put the hammer down ran 88mph at 5450. Next step is to get Brett to get me another 300-400 rpms which he says he can. With that said after props dialed in we should be 93-94 mph slip actually goes down the faster we go. All I can say is dial in was a pain in the $$$ but I'm finally saying it's worth it. Imo every 46 BT needs boxes boat handles 150% better 3-5 footers in the great lakes and rides like its on rails, don't even have to touch the sticks set at 3500 and cruise. Thats about the latest sorry it's been a while just been crazy busy.

Round up..... I know you were hoping for 100mph, but 90mph is still pretty stout for that condo. I'm sure with the power you have you can tweak another 5mph out of it.
