All nominees for top 100 most influential people in offshore have little or no influence on the sport today. They are all legends and were of great influence in there day, but not today. Like it or not, John Carbonell and Ed Smith are the two most influential people in offshore today and may very well be trumped in the near future by Mike Alweiss and his law firm

That's a bit rough Scotty....:)

There are many who are currently alive and racing I would put in there. We've spent so much time and energy on the new News and Article section haven't spent a lot of time on the Top 100 kickoff. That should change very soon. But, I'd put in possibly several current competitiors, and maybe two of your three choices in too.

The Top 100 Most Influential would be for all time. Everyone is eligible from Dick Bertram to Scotty B......

Game changers, promoters, racers, etc.

It's a discussion with an outcome that won't be agreed on by everyone for sure.

I'm even at a tossup for three possibilities for my Number 1 !!!

I would agree 100% if it was worded top 100 most influential of all time, then I vote for Reggie

We'll fix it.

I have Reggie about fourth though on my list, but that's why it will be a good discussion.

Dick and Don are tough to beat out of my top 2, where I would probably have Dick first and Don second. But it was Ray's design that made them both what they were, so....

And where does Kiekhaefer fit????? Gotta be up there too.....

It is definitely of all time.

I'll try to clear that up in the main sticky thread.

Put in your nominee, who, why, and even what position if you so desire. But, be prepared to make your case.

I just started one for Don Aronow as #1 of all time. If you think it is Reggie, read it and weep Scotty....:sifone:
