I cannot believe how many calls and emails I am getting about this new boat. And it's no where close to done yet....

http://www.seriousoffshore.com/checkmate-now-running-with-the-big-boys/

Hope you enjoy the story and photos. To have another Saccenti designed hull out there is pretty cool. I can't wait to see it perform...

Nothing was supposed to get out until the Miami boat show. It was a project that we've been involved with for quite awhile, and all of us were trying to make sure it stayed under cover as was planned by the manufacturer. We've deleted several posts before now, but someone got their hands on a couple outside shots they put up yesterday and the speculation started, so we had to release the main story earlier than what was planned on....

I almost deleted your comment last week, but no one picked up on it....

Best laid plans you know.....

Be nice to see, we've been waiting. Too bad you guys couldn't have got it done for the Miami show. That would have been a sweet splash at the show if it had been possible.

And welcome.....

After all the crap he took elsewhere about the build, bad this, bad that, etc, plus the leak of the build before they could make their factory announcement as they had planned for months, I don't know that I'd chat anywhere, anymore. Sure seems to be more and more of that.

I'll see what we can find out.

Chatted with the Checkmate guys a bit. The boat is almost completely done, they are waiting for one key part to finish it for water testing. Because of the complete redesign of the interior they have just finished the last couple pieces on that.

They are as anxious to finish this and get it out on the water, actually more so, for testing as we are about seeing it out there. So, about two days after the last piece gets there, it should be on the water.....

I personally can't wait, because as I said, experienced company, avid performance boater management there, Saccenti design, and close to me!:26:

There are quite a few of the build details that they have never released, but it is certainly a glass and lay-up schedule that rivals the best out there. So, I can't wait to hear either. The 700's should make a 90mph 43'er in my estimation. And, the way the Chief/Saccenti handled, this should be an incredible boat.

I can't wait either.

09-27-2012, 10:29 PM
By the way, there are a couple more things they could do to get more top speed, but as of right now the boat is coming on plane extremely well and handling really well also. 92 is nothing to sneeze at, and is a couple mph faster then I thought the best it would do. I'm not sure they're done yet, we'll see.......

Now, if we could get Bobby to come up here and take us for rides like he did in Chief in Michigan City a couple years back........

Yes.it is. It was still owned by the dealer at that time. One of the transmissions was in gear so that engine wouldn't start. They didn't realize it. We bought it in September. It had 19 hours on it but we are the first owners.
