13 miles, 147 corners. I wonder how many laps you have to do on that track to know it well enough to drive it like that. Funny watching him fly by all the crotch rockets.

VERY cool.......guy is f'kin hanging it right out thats for sure!
wasnt that big slide with the tires lit up part of the Porsche show on Speed?

back in the 80s my buddy had an in car lap of the Aussie GP in Johnny Dumfries's black GPS Lotus he taped off of TV......he was right on Teo Fabi's azz in his Benneton.....in those turbo days huge stabs of flame would belch every time he let off on the gas.....awesome.....but the coolest thing was the cockpit in Dumfriess' car was very open so you could clearly see the tach coming up and him slicing through the gears in that slick classic H pattern 6 speed box.......awesome!....we would rewind and play that piece over and over again....cool!.....to me F1 lost something when they went to......."paddles"........doug

No anti-lock brakes, traction control either........Looks like an old RUF yellowbird. I did an event in 1992 at Sebring in a MB 190e 2.3 16V and was on the track with a RUF yellowbird and an F40. Best I could run was 110ish in the straight (short track) and they would run past me like I had the brakes on! They could pass me at the beginning of the straight, hit the hairpin and be down and out of the next straight before I could get through the hairpin!

It takes talent to tame those old 911/930 turbos!

Only 13 miles ?

Try THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wnZq9KBBfc) ...44 miles... Flat out in Sicily.

And here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF5ng5-wb6w&NR=1) is the lap record that still stands made by a friend and must say Idol of mine...Leo Kinnunen, Gulf-Porsche 908 # 40 and a best lap of 33.36

Despite him being my countryman nothing to Compared to Senna, Peterson,Gilles Villeneuve, Arnoux or Piquet.
Mika was called by his mechanics as the empty helmet...you may interpret it as you wish but being a racemechanic myself I know what it means if a Finn is in question.

Senna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4Cfpaun978)
Peterson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJricRRcgfs)
Villeneuve& Arnoux Duel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzCqY8Wg5So)

And Finally... Nelson Piquet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHdItAr2Ssw)
