Great one Tim. I always thought that was a great looking boat and an interesting build technique. what ever happened to it, did it perform well?

If my memory is correct that is the boat that the front ducts brought air down to feed the steps.

Yes the boat has been in the water. It ran incredible. High 80's first time out. They were looking for props last I heard. That is until he ran into some engine issues. He bought a motor which was in special development or something. Unfortunately he had the engine for 2 years before he even put it in the boat and when he ran into some issues the factory didn't want to do anything for him. The engine project had since been shut down. I am not sure what the issues were, but they must have been severe enough that the owner felt with so little time on the engine something should have been done to make good on it.

So sad. After all the time and labor into this boat it has just been sitting in my friend's driveway ever since. :(

From what I was told, the boat ran like it was on a cushion of air. I guess with the amount of air being rammed to ventilate the steps it would have that effect.

I wish I could have gone for a ride.

The hull's weight I believe came in around 2000 pounds. The deck is 3/8' aluminum honeycomb. Nothing was spared building this boat. I think the owner just wishes he went for a different engine at this point.
The motor was to put out 600 hp with 600 lbs of torque.

Not putting anything out now for the moment...:(

Yes indeed.

It was done by a guy named Rich. His signature is very creative.

You really need to be looking into it to understand what I mean.... ;)

It is actually a one-off project. There is no mould for the boat itself.

Sorry to hear about the engine problems. Dyno-flo builds some nice motors at great prices;

www.dyno-flo.com

Their 700hp carb motors are priced at $12-13k and their 540/600 motor is right at $10k. The man to talk to is Scot Slotten.

All I can say is WOW!!!! I sure hope he gets some new power in it and gets it wet again. Its a shame that such a work of art sits in a driveway. Thanks for the slide show Tim. We need more of this kinda stuff on here.
