What river? We had talked about giving the IL a shot...launching at Big Basin by Den's shop? There's a cool bar there.

Lisa & I are in for Hammond Sat overnight. Now weather says Sat NW winds 13 mph 71 high and Sun SW winds 6 mph 76 high. Rain Mon AM but hot. We're kidless Sat & Sun so lookin to stay at Hammond
sat since don't get that chance much. Plus I'll be hauling around a bunch of women Sunday lookin for a good time still.
The Basin at 55 & bluff rd has a shallow murkey small harbor no room for a group. The bar is OK and has bands though. In that pool though there's supposedly a scavenger hunt then a party at lillypads on the Kankakee. And this pool is east of locks of the Morris pool. River not much fun for big boats like ours though.

Near shore (under 5 mi) is much less but yeah that open water of 12-16 ft for Fri/Sat and 40 knot winds sounds awesome. It would be freaky cool to be floatin in that.
Certainly no Hammond Sat PM as my last post hoped, oh well. But at least Monday looks great at 85 deg and light SW winds.
Maybe lake Clinton Sunday or somethign different. Even the Morris pool has a few beaches but the barge waves arn't fun to deal with and the dnr are tuff at times and usually gotta get there early to park. But watchin the first timers at the ramp is fun for a while. If one of yous hits the river Sun I might join ya.

As of 9:30 tonight bouy data located between Racine & New Buffalo says 7.9 to 8.5 ft wave height and 6 second dwell. Go to Noaa.gov and search for "bouy data" then zoomin on map & highlight the bouy. select "details" then you'll see the last many hours at 15 min intervals.
Yup we'll see ya Monday at EC.
Redhotsommer-going to Mi will put you in the brunt of the wind. Same bouy above is 35 kt max wind but New Buffalo says 40+ knott wind.
Doin the math on 6 sec dwell, let see , means a 42 ft boat will go wave to wave at 63.4 mph-That's like perfect for a 42 fountain with 525's!
(j/k have no idea)
