Here is my 1992 Steel MYCO trailer, i had it up for sale but i guess no body wants it.
So i decided to rebuilt it and keep it .
It will have torsion axles with disc brakes EOH !!
New bunks and new paint, tought about getting it powdercoated but paint is ok.

Some pics to start with, took the bunks off and mesured everything that goes on..LOL :cheers2:

Oh, thought about buying an aluminum for the salt water i use it in,,but then...mmmmmmhhhhh, this trailer is 18 years old and i dunked in salt water the last 3 years, don't know how often it was in salt water before that,,but it was kind of rusty when i got it ...so it will last an other 10 years after the rebuild and steel is better for traveling anyways..IMO !!!!! :seeya:

I've always heard steel won't last a year after a few salt water dunkings... Been worrying me. I put mine in twice then ran to Lake Norman the next day to rinse off/out and had an excuse for one more run/swim/Margaritta on the way home.

Seems you can paint the outside all you want but what about the inside? I want to do some salt water trips this summer. What have you guys found?

I can a Steel trailer that I hauled at least once a week in the summers to the river( Salt),always washed afterwards and never had a problem. Painted maybe twice in 10 years.

Hello, i like this rebuild and to answer your question... i think since this one here is a C-channel trailer there would not be anything holding the saltwater.
I also seen a lot of steel trailers in salt water and never looked like they have a major problem if well maintained!

Good point about the C channel. Didn't notice that. Mine's box tube w/nothing to protect the inside. Impossible to rinse out too.

I would just weld them shut? Before i would spray undercoating in them tho.
This one here in the pictures i just found on craigslist for sale, so who ever the owner is did finish it. Looks nice to.

A friend used to have with a box framed trailer. It was oil filled and pressurized. I don't suppose many were like that.

I heard of axles being oilfilled and pressurized, but never seen it done on a frame?
