I am restoring the 1970 Magnum 27' Sport, Hull number 00111, of John Holman of Holman-Moody, Inc. to the Three-Man, 347 c.i.d. Ford Boss Engined, Volvo-Penta 270 drives, with some small refinements to make things a bit easier but otherwise the same as before. Would this boat be competitive in this type of racing and will there be any races in the western half of the country?

Thanks Nige. The original invitation was for the Around Ireland Race. The cost of shipping killed it. Can't blame them, when I saw the price the shipping company wanted for over and back for our boat, it was almost the cost of running a Production racer for the season, back in the day.

It was going to be Bobby Saccenti and myself along with Bob the Builder on his 50 foot Nor Tech with triple diesels. That would have been a great run....maybe next year.

Have a couple of invites to drive in Cowes this year. I hope one of them works out and the volcano stops long enough to get over there.

That sucks over shipping costs. Boat would have been a viable contender by the sounds of the spec. Hope to see you at Cowes!
