Excellent.

That's one of the reasons you got an invite- always willing to help a guy out on OSO.

I've written about this before but it's worth reiterating- we'll not only have these tech forums, we're going to have an online magazine- what's called a CMS. It'll be just like any other magazine, only without the paper. Authors will be able to post tech articles, factory tours, race team profiles, etc. We're also going toextend to certain people the opportunity to do something called Blogging. This is essentially a column, like you'd see every day in the newspaper. It can have a tech tip for the day, a thought on a topic, maybe race coverage- literally anything someone wants to write about, provided it's interesting and useful to the members.

In '99 Art Lilly brought Allen and I to Fountain to rig a SuperV. We had previously rigged the Skater/Built Fountain together at Lilly's shop. Allen did the cockpit and I did the engine compartment. I got to crew it in '98. We learned a lot that year. We tried and tested numerous water systems. The speed increased from 125 out of the box to slightly over 140. This boat in the picture became Fountain USA.Com. Again Allen and I assembled the boat. It was so nice to have all the resources of fountain at your request. We did three together.
I was very lucky and honored to have had this experience. All three are still running around, one is a poker run boat, The original skater/built and the other two are still racing.

This is a pic of the Skater/built at the end of the '01 Season. That year the superv's no longer ran blowers. These are Griffin supercat engines I crewed it from Lilly's shop all season for APBA. It set a kilo earlier that season in Sarasota.
Best of all I got to run it in Key West SBI Worlds with Matt Rice.

This picture shows Matt Rice and I, William Moore and Joey Griffin looking on, and Bobby Moore attending to Art and David Woods in the 46.

I will always treasure that season and the friends I made along the way.

nice! what was the reason for the side exhaust on all 4? was that mostly a weight saving measure? I ran in Bret's old Fountain, the white Mikosukee boat, and it was run out the transom. Later Dean switched the forward motor to tractor style to shave some pounds. I like those Skater built Fountains, Stanch's comes to mind.

A little for weight and mostly convenience. When the long pipes go over the rear motor is sucks. Hard to build and fit pipes. Plus it's a pain to work on.
Tractor pipes were the next progression for light weight and ease of service.

Skater Built 3 Fountains. Banker/Tivoli, Jawanna/Pier57 2, V-76/ Pier57 1 now Muscle poker run.
I was involved with only the 3rd of those. I did re rig and crew with Lilly the Tivoli boat in '99. The USA.com was built at Fountain as was the Firewater/Stanch's. Allen and I rigged both of those. The later at Lilly's shop.

Then you might like these pics. I thought the boat looked longer all white.
Want do you think.

First Pic was its first race Key West June '98 Art and Jeff Harris

After Both worlds and all of Reggies Blower Motors were gone, Art and I ran the boat in Puerto Rico with some Troy Dennis B motors. Everybody knew Art from a previous race with "Dragoonlady". It was a most memorable experience especially the awards.

Art sure was good to me. He would introduce me as the guy that made him look good.

Ok Jim in Key West I am going to buy you some drinks and would love to hear some stories and history like you just shared. I talked to you in Biloxi, I use to own the joker boat. Thanks for the memories and hope we can catch up more. Its great to learn where all this came from.

Did the boat in the above pic wind up being Lisa's boat, the twisted metal team?

MOBILEMERCMAN

No, it is now a Muscle poker run boat. Lisa bought the Yellow #2 boat from David, originally the Jawanna boat. It did look similar. This one above was built for SuperV with blower motors. The previous one was built for B class.

This was the one Art had Peter built after he did Jawanna/Dramamine. It was the last Skater built Fountain. Reggie did digitize it and built a clone, Instigator.

Can you go into this a little more? I'm interested in the progression of technology in these boats.

the 46 that is mentioned in this picture is the same that the extreme team ran in KW this year. Very cool to that boat take to the water again.

Steve the owner of 007 Chaos owned it before the extreme team.

The most interesting thing to me is in '97 SuperV's with 1100 hp were going about 115. In '98 the Fountain mentioned earlier went 125 out of the box. By 2000 it and the Matco now Raven boats were going 140. Now SuperV's with 525 are capable of going 115.

The Skater V has proven its self and now the Outerlimits is in the mix.

Trick Water systems and new propeller designs continue to advance and bring forth higher speeds.

I was at Vera's, Steve's resturant, on Sunday. He had the boat painted on the wall and he is going to put the xtreme boat up there as well. Its a great boat and I always enjoy a ride in it.
