Unfortunately Carrera are all center console boats now. The 36' is a nice hull and I heard that they are making a 39' closed deck outboard. Captain55

yup, but there are a lot of original Carreras out there, heck a bunch of the P5 P6 class boats are 24 Carreras :)

the 32/36 Carrera was/is a Cig mold.
Pic is of the 36 Carrera raceboat with Sal Picon on the throttles and Alex Picon steering.

Besides the current Carreras are all built off the same molds they got from Humberto Picon.
So center console or not they still have the offshore race heritage.

+1 vote for carrera forum. There are many old racers still around. The 27 carrera's are coming back. Center consoles are "serious" offshore boats:willy_nilly: Some of the other boat forums aren't even in business or have produced far less than carrera.

does anyone know how humberto picon's son is doing
after the boat crash he had last yr in the keys memorial day weekend. Was he convicted ?

that is humberto picon's son xavier
as far as i know he was not charged .
The other boat was running with no lights and broadsided the
boat driven by picon
xavi was driving his group to dinner not coming from a bar like
the idiot at the keys newspaper reported.

awesome i remember seeing it as i was on my way home in my boat..
..it was ugly....one of my friend's (jay) was in the boat and was taken to the hospital and was there for over a week. . .

Glad to see this section shaping up. And it's great seeing new members- especially from places we don't hear much about.

If you guys don't mind, tell us about your boats and where you use them.

Yes, I bought it from Miami w/o engine. Never had a chance to talk to the prevous owner so Im not sure what setup he had.
When I sanded down the transom I noticed that the boat originally was painted dark blue and had a TRS setup. Then the boat was painted red and now its all white with a bravo drive.

Tons of work on my boat to get it in shape, Ill start a project-thread to show you!

Looks sweet! And I know how it goes, lot of things I wish I had not sold but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
