Anyone else have a lot of valve clatter if they get on the gas? If I ease into it, it not so bad. I think with additives it goes away a little. Is it the diesel they make now that is not so good?

Mine does (2005) and always has. My mechanic said that it's not the valves, but the variable timing and not to worry about it.

It's got 90,000 trouble-free miles on it and still runs just as it did when new. I can live with it. :) :D:sifone:

My '04 does it A LOT, it's driving me nuts! I thought it was valve "slop" that was making the noise. Mine has a different motor than Old School, so I don't know (LB7). I've been told to try adding some 2 cycle oil to my fuel. They say that quiets it down a bit.

Two cycle oil helps quite the injectors, i use it every tank.

If you are talking when you are up at over 2500 rpm it is the way it is delivering the fuel and the pressure of the fuel, at wot fuel pressure is 24000 lbs. Nothing to worry about.

Ok, thanks for all the info guys. I thought it was probably not something to worry about it just drives me nuts. In in the back of my mine I thought if the motor goes it goes and that gives me a way around the old lady to buy a new dually. :sifone:
