From what I have heard its one of the best runs to do. I don't know anybody who does it from the City. Get ahold of Boat Freak he does the run and says its a blast! Like you
said its a long drive.

I towed my 37AT up to Chicago a few years ago. It's not a bad drive at all. It can be done in a day.

How far is your drive? I'm less than 2 hours away, but would drive 10 ,12. Its a great run especially if your in the AT family.
I towed to Jacksonville last year 13 hours, but had more fun at JOTJ. Just my 2 cents.

So its a poker run? I thought those were for bigger boats, my 25` gets knocked around quite a bit and Im still learning how to drive it.
Usually I dread the 6hr. drive to the UP, 14hrs in car would give me nightmares:blush5:

When is it anyway, I`ve been sitting on my ass for the last 5 weeks with this torn ACL/MCL/bone contusion.. surgery is in 2 weeks then another 3 months before I`m good to go.. I`ll be living in the boat by then with not being able to work all this time.
Being self employed really sucks sometimes.. :(:(

Edit, I found out when it is.. and they split up the boats , big boys go first.. it sounds like a blast. I`ll have to see how the next couple months go

Don't let the size of your boat hold you back from doing the run. I did it with no issues in a 223 Formula seven years ago. It's on a river, so rough water generally isn't a problem. It's a fun poker run....but be ready to partay!!! :cheers2:

Go to the Richmond Power Boat Assoc. website: http://richmondpowerboat.com
It starts in Hopewell just south of Richmond, VA and runs down the James River to Tidewater Yacht Club in Portsmouth, VA

This is a great run. We have made the haul there two years in a row and it is a haul. It's not t.hat big of a deal if you can make a big weekend out of it. I wouldn't worry about having a 25 as like they said it is a river and you won't have to worry about rough water.

I've made the run for the past 4 years. It is by far the most fun I've had on any poker run I've attended.

The tow is a biotch, (as it's 9 1/2 hours one way for me), but well worth it.

Like previously mentioned, it's a river run. No big water unless you go out to the bay at the end of the run.

R'Addiction has run his 25 AT for the past few years as well with no issues.

Heck, he even hung with me in Remedy at the end of the run last year in some really good 2 to 3 foot chop with an occasional cabin cruiser wake to jump. :D

There's also the AT compound to hang out in before and after the run.
