2002 Cigarette Top Gun, Twin Step, Merc 575SCi, Bravo XR drives, Extended covergirl cabin. Everyone “says’ the boat they are selling is clean, like new or whatever. YEAH, RIGHT!- You go to see it and it turns out to “OMG what is this owner thinking”! Well, I too will say my boat is superior condition. This boat has been re-done stem to stern with the best products available and an open check book. Not because it needed it. But because I liked doing it and wanted to make it “my” boat. I have receipts & dyno sheets for 95% of what was done as well as a detailed maintenance / upgrade log that lists when ANYTHING was done to the boat and when. Looks like a Miami boat show boat! Yes, I am asking more for it that the rest, but one look and I am confident that you will want to own this beauty. Seriously, it looks like it rolled out of the factory last spring. Boat has been highly maintained (by a clean freak), and looks like new throughout - Guaranteed! Stored indoors. If it is not as clean / pristine condition as I state, I’ll pay for your trip home. Equipped with Twin 575 SCi's, 109 / 0 Hours on complete re-builds, Bravo XR Drives, Upgraded Sound System, Extended Cover Girl Cabin, Swim Platform, incredible paint...NO scratches! Loaded and ready to go on a 2007 aluminum triple-axle Myco trailer, Simply one of the VERY BEST Top Guns on the market today - period!

No hype - this boat looks like it could have just come from Cigarette last spring.

Last winter, the bilge was completely re-finished and everything in there is new. Again, because I wanted to do it.

Some better pics of each motor. Re-built by Joey Griffin with the best of the best in parts.
Just did a standard re-build. Did not try to go the more HP route. But Joey did reccommend replacing "flat tappets" with "roller rockers".
Not really a motor head, but Joey said that was better, more reliable and would pick up about 40 -50 hp. It did, plus it got better fuel economy.

I will tell you that this boat is as clean as Bill says it is . He is anal about his boat. He has the boat out of the water before sun down so he can wash and flush the motors. IT LOOKS LIKE NEW . :sifone:

Holy Crap! I just saw this thread! What are you doing Bill?! Come on boating brotha...you can't do this! Heck, I just dropped all this coin for a boat that can keep up with you in the snotty water we typically run in. I don't want you on board...I want you as the wing man you have been for so many years! :)

On a more serious note...Bill's boat stays indoors next to mine. It is every bit as advertised. NO BS! I strive to be as anal as Bill, but he's a tough act to follow.

Damn Bill! :(

This is funny!!!
Someone (no one from here) made a lowball offer of $140,000.
Never seen the boat or anything. I guess he thinks I "need" to sell.
My first thought was to ignore his offer, maybe I will respond with something like - your price is $200,000.00.
Anyone got a better smart azz response to such a (IMHO) stupid offer??

BTW: I don't have to sell, I don't need to sell, and don't care if I don't sell. It is just that I am bored this winter cause there is nothing to do to the boat. I like to work on the boat doing improvements in the off season.

Your answer for phone offers should be: I can't take you money over the phone and therefore can't take your offer over the phone.......
If the guy showed up with a suitcase with 140K in cash then you would have to atleast consider the weight of the offer.

Tell him that's a hell of a down payment and he really doesn't need to put that much down on a $180K purchase.

I like working on stuff in the off-season and have replaced the dash and some other items that really didn't need it......suggestion: go work on someone else's stuff. It gives you something to do (without spending your own money), and when you do need the help, you've got a couple guys willing (or obligated) to give you a hand when you need it another year.

Bill, this is just an observation but the whole auction thing kinda made it seem this way. My first thought was wow he must need the $. If I was in the market I might of thrown you a low ball.

I low ball and have been low balled. Not responding is the best- then they contact me again to see if I got the offer. I'll respond to that please quit wasting my time and then they either go away or become serious.

I bought my last two boats over the phone and never saw them untill they arrived. So its very possible that a deal is put together strickly over the phone. Blume told me once in negotiating a boat, "give me a number". Every deal starts somewhere, eventually ended up at a higher number but bought the 46 I have now.

Great looking boat Bill !

Question .... why were the "bottom tweaks just right" in 01-02 ?

Also ,... don't be too tough on the guy with the "low ball" 140 offer ... I think we are all going to be a bit more aggressive these days when trying to buy .... or sell a boat ... He may just turn out to be your buyer after he see's / runs / inspects the boat ect .....

Chris
02-13-2009, 10:26 AM
I see alot of asking prices these days that aren't even close to being reflective of the present market. If the seller can start substantially off the mark, there's no reason the buyer can't do the same. And taking it personally is just stupid. It's not like someone is telling you that you have ugly children. You're selling an object- it's business.

I've found the best way to negotiate is with information. If you have strong, solid and credible listing and sales data on similar items, it's much easier to estabilsh credibility for your pricing or your offer.
