Frank asked earlier for me to post pics of this. I am putting up a toybox/home for my boat during the winter months. Really, I just pushed down some trees and built up the pad and then my barn builder showed up and put it up. They should be done tonight. Pretty much 3 days to put it up which was a lot quicker than I could have done it.

First pics are pushin trees down.

Then making the pad

Materials delivered

Then drilling holes (found my electric, dig rite guys were off 4' glad we were cautious and looking for it so we didn't cut it).

Posts going in the ground.

Top plate and starting ribs.

Cool, you should make a copy the Fort Apache sign and put it on the building.

Looks really nice, did you go 10' or 12' side walls?

baywatch
02-16-2010, 08:48 AM
I went with the 12' sidewalls. I considered 16' at first but am glad I did the 12' instead (it is plenty tall). It will still easily fit my tractor (has a enclosed cab) on a flatbed trailer no problem. I live in a subdivision (3-5 acre yards) so I had to get it approved by trustees and all of that fun stuff and when I mentioned 16' walls their eyes about popped out of their heads so I had to compromise a tad.

I am still very happy with it!!

Dang!!!! how big is that gong to be? The trustees of my subdivision definately wouldn't let me do 60' X 180' or what ever you are working on there. I am jealous though :cheers2:

Yeah, pretty much the same thing. Morton is very proud of their buildings. Think of morton being the apache of post frame construction and what I have being the Fountain of post frame buildings (it really is 40 x 60 though, no beak) LOL..

50,000 sq ft but I'll only get to use 10,000 sq ft for personal use. The building will be a Ruffin.

If you are going to heat it check out Re- Verber-Ray they make nice radiant tube heaters. With your side wall height it should work good for you, that what I use to heat my shop. I have a 42 x 64 at our house 30 X 64 of it is heated. I just had a 30 x 30 built at our cottage.

Finally, put the boat in there until the ground thaws and I start on the flooring. As you can see I have plenty of room incase I decide I want to go to a 47' on a goose neck trailer.

If anyone has a good pic that I could take to a local sign/ banner place please post it, pm me, or whatever and I will get one made. That will look sweet on the back wall.

Thanks,

Josh
