What's with all the metalwork infront of the throttles?

Ryan Beckley
11-26-2008, 12:31 PM
It is to reinforce the canopy structure.

Is there a weakness there then?

Ryan Beckley

It's just added strength for safety. Most of the newer boats including that one have been upgraded from the original design. I know that canopy was upgraded to newer windows as well as modified by Guardado marine in Miami. For the price it's a GREAT deal. I throttled this boat when it was new and saw 119 in it with stock motors on fresh water. It hold the Chattanooga mile record at 117 plus. With Paul dePoo and I in it. Would be a great race boat in Super Stock , Cat Outboard , or Xcat/classIII

Wow, just what i was looking for, however, it has outboards. If this was with inboards and #6's, it would be in my backyard already

DR, i dont like outboards either but if i had the $ i buy it ,,,they race like hell and are very very reliable .

MarylandMark
08-12-2009, 05:18 PM
DrGaryDC why don't you go for a ride? One can't argue the reliability of #6's but outboards (sans me on the sticks) are fairly reliable if that is a concern.

2 strokes wind up like nothing else so a ride may just make you come over to the dark side! That along if you are looking to race- look at the class this thing can run in- it's one of the largest with some very long time veterans!

How fresh is the power on this boat?

08-12-2009, 06:19 PM
Having had both outboards and now a #6 cat , you simply cant beat the bang for the buck factor of an outboard cat. Initial costs are lower, maintenance is lower and the $ per mph cant be beat! You gotta at least go for a ride!

DrGaryDC
08-12-2009, 07:22 PM
I get it. It makes sense. Maybe i should go for a ride. If for whatever reason it doesnt start, i wouldnt know the first thing to do with a 2.5 liter outboard. My father is Gary from Rogers Speed Shop who would be maintaining my new boat. Maybe i need to be more open. Where is the boat located??

DrGaryDC

I will be in Patchogue and the Pt. Pleasant race (home town), will the boat be there?

Concept (semi custom CC's) built a 30' CC for a Capitol Hill Police Officer that is 6'8". They raised the radar arch, customed the seat sizes and a few other things. The standard arch was in his line of sight!!

Anyway- to get back on topic...

This boat looks like - if needed- it has a lot of spare room for you to move the foot rest, seats and throttles around fairly easy and clean- again if you had to.
