Thanks bro--looking good. So educate me on the flat deck/raised deck? differences? Just more head room?

That is the overall difference. Sax or Ratickle could chime in on what other differences there are

Essentially more headroom, but there is more room for a fridge, tv, microwave, and stowage in the "lockers" above the couches/seating.

The flat-deck handles better at high speeds. The cross section to the wind, and the center-of-gravity being lower are the main differences there. Also a little less weight. The raised deck has 6'10" of headroom at the back of the cabin, tapering to right at 6' at the foot of the bed. My wife is 5'11" and can walk all the way forward and not bump her head. The flat deck is a little less than 6' I believe.

Steve David had his for a few years and regularly took it to the Bahamas in some of the roughest stuff the Stream would throw....

Thanks guys for the particulars. Flatdeck is looking good with the cosmetic work. Trailer is about ready and the 2nd engine is dynoed and should be shipped next week. We ll see how she runs now

Define "raised v berth". They are damn near the same inside minus headroom, and cabinets. Layouts are very similar

Raised meaning like the standard V berth in any other performance hull where you crawl up into the sleeping area where as on the BT you just lay "down". Here's a link to the one I saw with the "raised". I assume this is a flat deck

Chris, I just saw yours in OSO classifieds. I love the 500 EFI's, boats out of my budget though. Story of my life

YOu have me confused:willy_nilly: All you need to know is they are a very large spacious boat. The "berth" on my flatdeck is the same as my previous tall deck except for the headroom height and cabinets. The way you enter it and the height of the bed is the same. Hope that helps:leaving:

Here's what I mean. This is the cabin/V berth in a xt-430 that BJ marine has. This has the "raised" V berth I am speaking of. Trying to figure out how Bob determined which hulls got the raised or the standard we are accustom to seeing.

That boat was the original 43 flat deck.

They made the 43' for a bit and then introduced a version with a "raised deck" for more headroom. In 97' I think, they came out with the stepped hull, and of course offered that with a flat or raised deck. The stepped hull actually has some more freeboard than the straight bottom, so the stepped hull 43 (flat and raised decks) had more headroom than the 43' straight bottom counterparts. The 460 has even more headroom than the 43' raised deck (gives you the opportunity to try things standing up! :smash::bump:).

Here is a pic of the vberth in our 43' gt. You can see how the stepped hull flat deck has just a little bit more room than the straight bottom flat deck.

A friend mine owns the one on the Manning trailer. Since he bought a 55' Neptunus, the BT doesn't get used much. Very clean, well maintained boat with Riggs reliable power to boot.

I have his phone number and intend to call him if the buyer for my Velocity makes good on the purchase. He's made a deposit and has until April 1 to pay the remainder, we'll see. Any chance you could get some engine compartment pics to post for us?
Know anything about the condition of the drives? Poor bravo's behind 525sc's:ack2:

I have a deposit on my Velocity and is supposed to make right on the purchase by April 1. I am looking at what's out there but want to make sure I get what I want this time rather then being persuaded into a particular manufacturer. It has come to be that overnighting is more what my GF and I are into but I can't get away from the lines of performance boats. I want a floating condo:driving:
