I hit MobileMercJim about this previously, in consideration of his history with the brand (http://www.jrsperos.com/), but I'd love to see more pics and hear more stories about the Fountain race boats from the "early years" into the '90s.

Were Heart Beat and Rock Solid the same boat or just similar looking?

Not to rob the thread, but what about any of Rehban's boats (Ohio steel). Like the 38 Cig they had called "Black Thunder". Also black and yellow w/triple bolster. What 38 Cig race boat was this before?

I believe the same. There was also "Banker" a red boat (before the white canopy boat) and CF Express out of your neighborhood.

Did the Ohio Steel Fountain ever win a championship? Did it ever win a race?

It used to be in Michigan, didn't Pete Rose have something to do with it?

What ever happened to John Rebhan? Did he just get burned out on boating? He was THE player in Fountain boats for quite awhile.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. He was sure fun to read about, when he was chasing & setting all of those records. One of my favorite pictures, is the ad Fountain ran years ago with INXS, Dragon Lady, & Ohio Steel, all trimmed & hauling ass.

Rest in peace, to the tune of a BBC running dry Stellings. :cheers2:

I remember seeing it for sale in the midwest a year or two ago. Before that it was at Dick Simon in SoCal (Stinson probably knows this better) in 2000 - 2002 time frame.

It's a cool looking boat, but I'd hear some pretty unflattering comments about its overall condition. Rumor only, so take it as you will.

They re-did that boat and made it the "nada-chance" boat. A buddy owned it for a year or two before buying a tiger. I saw it last in key west during the worlds around 07. Its all white now.

Blume you have it?

Is it true that the Ohio Steel Fountain never won a national title?
