I found a 2005 525 boat in the OSO classifieds for $279,000 from fastboats.com. I would want to talk to the owner of this boat about its history, and get a survey regardless. $119,000 is very suspicious for a Nor-Tech.

Thread disappeared but I want to say that marina is shutting the doors?

EDIT- not shutting the doors but not carrying brand new boats to the best of my knowledge

That boat was a raceboat badly converted to a personal boat, The seats look like they are out of a car. The rear seats don't even fit correctly and the worst part is 525s with Bravos. The 525s I could live with but XRs on a 36 Nor-Tech? thats should be a drive per month on that boat.

Interior looks like it was thrown together with left over parts. It takes alot of power and good drives to move that boat. I agree, needs #6's

The boat raced as Hooters in KW in 2004. The hull took such a beating that they didn't even race on Sunday.

And now it looks like a complete abortion!

those seats are horrible. and the things to cover the exhaust holes on the hatches....how much would it cost to have ti converted correctly? i think the paint job looks kinda nice.

I always wondered how a 36 NT cat would do on teh race course. I guess that answers my questions...

i could handle an interior upgrade as long as the hull is ok. that seems like a decent deal to me! maybe hell take my gun with no motors!

IIRC that boat was down here for a while. Never looked at it up close but it didn't look to impressive in person.

It was the second of two race boats built by Nor-Tech for PAGE, neither were too impressive, he later won the National Championship....IN A SKATER!!!!!

Great o be on SOS :)

I talked to the salesmen.. Asked him about the boat,,, he didn't tell me anything sepcific. Then I told/asked him if it was a race boat and converted. After some heee's and haaah's he admittied that it was converted, but he didn't know the specifics. He told me to talk to the mechanic/rigger who did the job.

I told him about the Hooter race boat, that I have some info.. and I can hear his jaw drop.
The price is up. but he still willing to honor the internet price of $119,000+- something.
The owner is "buying" a 50' NT cat, and he is thinking about thrading this one in.

Soo.. if you can afford a 50' NT. cat, you don't care about trading one in or selling.. Something is up.. Typ. thing.. "good from far.. far from being good."
Love the SOS bro's and the "gurus" on here. :biggrinjester:
