Thought this one would be appropriate for them Bufords...

Personally I´m a Buickophile since my dad had a 66 Buick Skylark 4dht 340-4 since early 70´s wich I inherited.
Also founded the Buick Club of Finland 1984.
Currently have a 1965 Gransport Convert project.
Friends have GS455 even a 70´s STG1 ragtop etc...
'
My Favourites are
the GS455´s
GranSports
1966 Wildcat'
1st gen Rivieras
GN´s and 4th Gen Electras.

My dad had a '31 Super 8 that he restored back in 1967. Ultimately sold it in 1992 or so. Cool car. There's a GS convertible that's been for sale for a while near me. Great pics. You guys saw that a GN was turned in during the Cash-for-clunkers deal?

Hell yeah I saw that one... great program you got there for being politically correct...

Dave Fiscus is married to the daughter of my former team-mate in the ASA stocker team we ran back in the day.

the 49's are a whole different car then these. they share a few minor drive train parts but thats about it.

So what do you think of Buicks current state?

Between Tiger Woods promotions, bad cross-over minivan/SUV's and GM's dwindling market share I suspect Buick is only a few months behind the Pontiac/Saturn death march....Buick hasn't made a remarkable car since the GN's in the late 80's.....everything has been a cross shared platform with other GM products with minor badge changing/headlights/tailights.

yep, they´ve lost it.. no more personal luxury cars like the Riv´s of yesterday, no more sophisticated muscle cars and no more the big Buicks...made in USA.
But seems all other GM US makes share same symptoms... or all 3 in general.
Outsourcing and badge engineering bites back hard...

The Rivieras were great, I had a 71 boat tail with a 455 in it. What a great car that was.
