The Merc ITS has somewhat of an extension box on it but only about 7" compared to the 12" of an Imco box...
How much different would the performance be between the two? Which one is better?

Have the best of both worlds. ITS and a 12" setback

Thats pretty cool. Wonder why I've never seen that before...

How about just a comparison between the two... Just a standard Merc ITS vs an Imco box....

Add this outdrive to my suggested transom combo and Bammmmmm. See JIMKIDMOTORSPORTS and his 30 Skater. :sifone:

Yes the Xpower drive is a good looking drive and suposedly pretty bullet proof but there aren't that many out there so if I were getting one, I would wait longer till there are some good on the water public testemonials....

Also, I should have mentioned I am asking these two setups in single engine vee bottoms...

will the IMCO SCX upper go onto the Merc ITS transom assembly??
Ive been kicking around buying an old 30' Corsa that was raced and had TRS's and just thinking what would the best set-up would be before I start thowing money in all directions..

Yes, the IMCO and Bravo have the same bolt pattern.
But i think the SCX needs a transmission ?!

no it does not have a trans ,,it works like a sc only all the gears and cluches are 50% larger ,to put the scx on a standard gimble you would need to change the bell only not the gimble ring ,,well worth the upgrade

:blush5: hi there again me what you think about upgrading mercruiser bravo drive 1.50 :1 with :

1.shower for cooling
2.extension box
3.nose cons

usually how many miles can get with those upgrades
on 12 m hull with 2x 502 prochargered ( 2x620 hp)

Thank you in advance ,

I believe you would need to run shorties on the extension boxes to see any major speed increases with that setup change.

Thoughts guys?????
