no comment on that As iīve skipped the 41īs in my life sofar but Iīve driven this very 32 and itīs not a bad boat at all.

I could compare it to a 46 Cougar but that wouldnīt be fair.. for the Cougar :)

pretty lofty goal there :D

In all the races I've done I cant remember a single weather report that was ever even remotely close of the actual conditions. I gave up on all that kinda stuff long ago, I'll tell ya whats its like when i'm lining up to a yellow flag lookin for a green one :D. Besides whats it really matter your all in the same water

Watch out for the "bump" leaving the harbor heading out. Also we found by running turn 2 wide and heading for the shoreline we could find some clean water sooner on some choppy days (tip from Marc Granet)

Possibility of actual Offshore conditions in Key West? Excellent. I just got here and there is a steady 20 mph wind. Everywhere outside the Harbor is 2-3-4 depending on how far out you go. I would imagine the "Wall" is building up nicely. Of course Wednesday is a long way off.

I hate to ask a stupid question, but....

On a 6.3 mile inshore course, how much of a difference do offshore conditions really make? Not criticizing, just curious.

Ryan Beckley
11-06-2009, 01:27 PM
It can be 1-3 in the harbor and 6-8 at turn one......

Might make it a bit more complicted, you know props and stuff. Certainly not like the good old days but the hand we are delt.

How much fuel is the average boat (non-turbine) carrying for these short courses? I'd think in an 18 mile race you barely need any fuel. Definitely a cost savings.

At least they are out there. Those that have never raced don't understand how big of an accomplishment it is just to make it out there (especially in this economy). My hats off to all of you.

Thanks, and i will cary a min. of 35 gallons on the first 2 races ( 18 miles )
and around 45 for the sunday race.

The boat just likes it since its light anyways !!!!!

Usually i figure 1 mile per gallon, is what it needs.

and 3-4's is perfect !!!!!!!!

I'm glad I could make some you laugh. Sorry to throw you under the bus DD. Good luck to everyone racing next week and be safe. Winning is great, but crashing sucks. I know because I have done both.

If there is anyone young racing let's see if they can beat my record. I was 18 years and 10 months old when I won the worlds. I believe it is a record that still stands as youngest driver to win the worlds.
