IOTA HOLD TALKS WITH BERMUDA’S PREMIER
Monday, 19 October: IOTA has held talks with Bermuda’s Premier, Dr. Ewart Brown, to discuss the feasibility of holding a round of the Championship in Bermuda in 2010.

IOTA General Secretary, Marco Sala, and Operations Director, Pasquale Sesana, were invited by Karl Outerbridge – owner of OTBT – to visit the islands last week for a series of preliminary meetings with Premier Brown and officials, to present the Championship and to see if the necessary infrastructures were in place to stage a Class 1 Grand Prix. “The aim of the visit was to see if the conditions exist to bring Class 1 to Bermuda,” said Sala.

“We have presented the Championship and its requirements in detail to the Bermudan Authorities. Now we must wait and see if they are in a position to realise their ambition of hosting a Class 1 event.”

If Bermuda does get put on the schedule for 2010, maybe a few US teams will make the short trip across to compete. Just maybe...:USA:

I'd love to go A-Z Any Idea what it's gonna cost to pull off and who could help with the logistics ?

Are all the class1 boats rudder boats ? It's kinda cool watching the video of all them turning while still out of the water.

We had good luck with the company that took Fury down to Trinidad and is bringing it back right now. If enough boats wanted to do it, you could charter a ship like they did for the Puerto Rico race, then all the teams can just drive their trucks and trailers right onto the ship.

Most all are rudder boats, a few of the older ones still have sixes.

I am sure if Class 1 knew that 3-4 or more teams would come over, they would do what they could to help with logistics.
