What camera are you using?

I remember a thread on the other site about a waterproof camera, but my search came up empty (and slow:rolleyes:)

It doesn't have to be waterproof, just durable.

My 3-4 year old Olympus is "splash proof"

I think Olympus still makes a water resistant/splash proof camera.

for me, therre is a line in the sand so to speak. I'm hard on stuff. I have an 8mp ge I got at Kameaprt. cost me $100 with case and 2gb card. takes decent piks and was cheap enough that I can sit on it, drop it in the lake or forget it somewhere in a drunken stupor. Portable electronics for me isn't whats best, it's what works and is disposable.....

I have this one.

It is shockproof, waterproof kid proof etc. I love it! It is nice not to have to worry about getting it wet in the boat. Hell, the kids take pictures under water in the pool all the time and no issues.. It was a little nerve racking taking a $400 camera under water for the first time though.

I have had great luck with the Sony Cybershots. Have had a couple of them and no complaints.

I just bought my 2nd Sony. I bought another brand after the 1st one I had and went back.

the sony is freaking awesome. The first one still works and takes great but technology has changed so much I wanted a new one.
