Hi
I am looking for a rebuild instructional manual for a Speedmaster III. I have a place that will check them out for me but as a mechanic and machinist I hate not knowing anything about them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

You need alot more than the book. The next one is a very large set of stupidly expensive special tools. Even then, without substantial experience you have a pretty good chance of screwing them up. It's more art than science getting them right. I'm a pretty ballsy SOB when it comes to DIY and I wouldn't consider it.

But the book is enlightening.

Your better of sending them out and its alot cheaper that way !!!
Shiping weight with crate is around 300 pounds each.
yellow freight will get the job done cheap and i also know a couple of places up north that can do the drives for ya. Mel RiGGS !!! is close and one of the best.

I watched Ron Dollar come out of his shop with one under each arm and throw them into the back of his truck, he was pizzed off at somebody and was taking their stuff back..

I have a manual that I bought several years ago. I had no intentions of doing my own rebuilds because of the reasons Chris stated, I just wanted to educate myself on them. They came in very useful however when my drive painting project got a little out of hand..

THE Merc shopmanual covers the Speedmaster 2,3,4,5's. It is not cheap. There is a place that sells them for Merc around $ 85 I think.

Just watch Ebay. I got mine for around 40 from what I recall.
