I drive a 04' Chevy 2500HD I adjusted the fromt torsion bars to level out the truck and now when I tow it squats in the rear slightly so I thought to add an extra leaf spring, but I don't want to raise the rear more than an 1" or so. So my question is have any of you added a spring and how much did it raise it? The reason I ask my dad added it to a 2wd and it really looks bad:ack2:It looks a good 4" higher and that I don't want.

Firestone RideRite airbags. Use 'em when you need 'em.

I mounted the pump and switch in the rear of my Excursion and I carry a stick that fits between the bumper and the ground. I load up and hit the switch. When the stick fits, I'm back to correct ride height. No more headlights in the trees, no more wandering steering. And no bad ride unloaded. Just remember to dump the air before unhitching. Your tongue jack doesn't go up that high.

+1 on the Airbags. I've had them on 4 trucks now.

Air bags are the chinizel! We use them on all our shop trucks for pulling campers!

I agree on the air suspension. I love it on my navigator. It is always level, no matter what you put behind it. My next truck will have airbags added immediately. If you do decide to go add-a-leaf, get a good one, not some autozone special. Go with a long leaf not the short thick spring, they ride like chit.

They are the best the Firestone Air Bags. And it will ride SMOOTHER when towing too.

I sell a shiz load of the air bags , both air-lift and firestone. No ride sacrificed when no load. My 2500 hd chevy rides rough enough with no load as it is !!!!

Air Bags. Extra leaf will just make it ride rougher.

You can install the air bags yourself. Springs require a good shop to install unless you KNOW how.

If you don't want to add bags, just add a flat spring to the bottom of the leaf pack. Won't stiffen the ride unloaded. Almost like adding a block, but pinned to the main leaf pack.

plus 1 on the air bags they work nicely,

be careful on asdjust the torsion bars too much it tends to wear out your front end components faster
