I go to Gainesville, and Norwalk every year, Charlotte is on the list, but with the money crunch this year it was not to be.

The deflection on the tires for Top Fuel and Funny Car just blows my mind. How the heck do they stay together I always wonder......

they must go through tires like crazy.

If you look at the top fuel army car, you can also see how much the frame is bending. I wonder what the lifespan of a frame for one of those cars is? Can't be very long I would figure with all that flexing going on.

They do high speed film in testing to accurately check hook-up. I've watched it and it is crazy the tire stays on the wheel the way they flex and twist.....:ack2:

They build that flex into the frame to act as a sort of supension... helps with the violent launch to keep the rear tires planted
