Here is the same prop with a sister 19 dia. 4 blade.....on the new drive :sifone:

We need more pitch and diameter. This set of wheels was a shot in the dark but they work great. I figured we would clip the diameter if we could not pull them. We are now looking at 7 and 9 blades. :drool5:

pat W

03, we still have more pitch....

We can cut a 26" diameter with no limits on pitch. What do you need, Pat?

We can do one off custom props cost effectively.

Julie, Good to know, I will send a drawing so you can quote it. PM your email to me. dxf ok?

Rik,...100ft tail tragger. I have some good shots over the transom of those running. I was on it without the foil. (4)x2200 hp MTU (2) on the center switch pitch. The sound was incredible off the props. I need to find out where I put those.

What are you running on Howards 46?

pat W

p.s. That does not count either, it is a ferrie.

Whats the rest of the boat look like??

Not pretty.

110' 55 tons and will run 50 knots.

I can't find a pic of the carbon fiber propellers that we tried. Talk about different.

What prop let go, Starboard? What about the carbon ones, same side??

I like how they cut the concrete to put the center prop on.

Hey, who ever said ship yards were "intelligent"

I think the Stb blade peeled off at 45 knots. Screwed a lot things up inside and out.

The carbon didn't cause any problems as they do not have any mass.

You like my new car? I'm going after the SF to LA record. USPS sponsor, by land by water or ?? W'ell make it there:)

I think Rik got the wing off his Luv Machine Van from highschool. You should paint the drive red so you do not need the red flag to go down the street. You will have to make it rh drive.

Did the stbd go also with the carbon? or both?

I can only imagine the carnage. Was it impact damage that lead to the failure?

No, the blade peeled off under load. The unbalance vibrated/shook/rattled the entire boat. It sunk the steering into the transom (full carbon boat with insert plates in the mounting areas) bent the drive line and loosened the mounting bolts through out the drive train.

Surprisingly, it did not bend a propeller shaft.

On the carbon's it was multiple problems. At first the boat would not go, then when it did it failed to reach speed and the blades went Bing bing bing. Too much torque for the carbon. We were putting some 12,330 lbs of torque to each of them. 766 max rpm.

I have a better idea to draw attention to my car, pait it YELLOW
